Dev Log #016 — Building A World Instead Of A Game

Something interesting happened this week.

I stopped thinking about Firetorn as a game and started thinking about it as a world.

Games have features.

Worlds have systems that interact with one another.

The more development planning progresses, the more interconnected everything becomes.

Travel influences business opportunities. Businesses influence wealth. Wealth influences vehicle ownership. Organizations influence player interactions.

The challenge is keeping everything understandable while still creating depth.

That balance remains one of the biggest design goals moving forward.
